Police in Cape Town are currently investigating a harrowing case of murder following the tragic death of a five-year-old boy in Bishop Lavis. The incident, which has shaken the local community, took place on Wednesday morning before 11 AM on Sky Road in the Cape Flats.
According to Captain Frederick van Wyk, the provincial police spokesperson, Bishop Lavis police are investigating the stabbing that occurred approximately at 10:40 AM, leading to the death of the young child. Upon attending the scene, SAPS members were informed that the boy had been stabbed with a knife and subsequently rushed to a local hospital by a member of the public.
Van Wyk elaborated that once at the hospital, the officers were shown the boy’s body, which had three stab wounds to the back. Sadly, the child was declared deceased at the medical facility due to the severe injuries sustained during the attack.
A suspect has since been apprehended in connection with the crime. The individual, reportedly a male in his forties who is believed to be mentally challenged, was arrested and taken to Bishop Lavis SAPS for detention.

She had reportedly left him with the suspect while she went to a nearby shop.
