A 21-year-old man is set to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court in Gauteng on Monday. The suspect was apprehended with the body of a woman he allegedly robbed in her vehicle.
The ghastly discovery was made on Friday, August 23, and has sent shockwaves through the community.
Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, Provincial Police Spokesperson, revealed that the preliminary investigation suggests the victim was killed during a house robbery in Standerton, Mpumalanga Province on Friday evening.
The suspect is believed to have ransacked the house, killed the victim, and placed her body in her Range Rover, before driving away with it.
The vehicle was traced to a petrol station in Moreleta Park, Tshwane in the early hours of Saturday, August 24, by an official from a tracker company.
During a search of the car and the suspect, the body of a female was discovered along with several stolen items, including laptops, cellphones, jewellery, and the deceased’s bank cards. Additionally, police found two firearms and a replica firearm inside the car.

The provincial police were promptly called to the scene, and the man was immediately arrested.
He now faces multiple charges, including murder, kidnapping, possession of unlicensed firearms, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and possession of suspected stolen property. Lieutenant Colonel Masondo confirmed that the suspect is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, August 26.
