At least 11 people have been killed in a head-on collision between a minibus taxi and a long-distance bus in the Eastern Cape.
The accident happened about 13:45 on Sunday on the R61 between Flagstaff and Lusikisiki.

The provincial transportation administration confirmed the collision but stated that the facts of the incident and its cause are still unknown at this time.
According to the department, emergency services were called and the injured were taken to the hospital.
