Netflix Drops A Surprise Teaser For Its ‘The Witcher’ Prequel

The Conjunction of the Spheres, the point in the Witcher universe where humans, elves, and monsters all came to inhabit the series' fantasy world, will be the focus of Blood Origin.

The Witcher: Blood Origin, a prequel to Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Anderzej Sapkowski’s dark fantasy novel series, is set to premiere in 2022, and the first trailer is now available.

Netflix unexpectedly released footage from the show as part of season two of The Witcher. The trailer is included as a post-credits scene in the season’s final episode. And, as of the time of writing, Netflix had yet to upload the video to YouTube.

According to Gizmodo, the trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot, but it does show Michelle Yeoh as Scian, one of the story’s protagonists.

Following the success of the first season of its live-action adaptation, Netflix has several Witcher-related projects in the works, including Blood Origin.

The company recently announced plans for a third season of the show, as well as a second animated film (following Nightmare of the Wolf) and a kids and family series.
