Ndimande Brothers Formally Charged In AKA And Tebello Motsoane Murder Case

The two Ndimande brothers, allegedly linked to the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and businessman Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, have officially been charged in South Africa.

They face a total of 20 criminal charges, including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and multiple firearm-related offences. Some of the charges are connected to other incidents, such as the murder of a taxi boss in Amanzimtoti, south of Durban.

The brothers are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon following their extradition from Eswatini earlier in the day.

Dramatic Return Under Tight Security

Their arrival in South Africa was marked by tight security and a dramatic scene at King Shaka International Airport. It took more than an hour for Interpol officials to hand the accused over to the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Once in custody, the brothers were transported in an armoured vehicle under heavy guard, accompanied by several specialised police units. A police helicopter circled overhead as the convoy made its way to the Durban Central Police Station, where the formal charges were laid.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe described the operation as a major collaborative effort.

“It is a significant moment and well done to the teams that have worked. We thank the office of the director of public prosecutions in KwaZulu-Natal for all that they’ve done for us, the NPA, great collaborative work, great partnership,” she said.

Cooperation Between South Africa and Eswatini Praised

Mathe also commended the cooperation of Eswatini’s authorities in ensuring the suspects’ handover.

“We thank the authorities in Eswatini for the role that they’ve played when we alerted them that the suspects are in Eswatini,” she added.

The brothers will make their first official appearance in the Durban High Court on Tuesday, where the state is expected to outline the full scope of the charges against them.
