Nathi Mthethwa’s Body Lands At OR Tambo International Airport

The plane transporting the body of South Africa’s ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, has arrived at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Mthethwa, aged 58, was discovered in a Paris hotel courtyard over a week ago.
“Air France 990, touched down here at OR Tambo at about 8:44, and there’s a sigh of relief for the family members, especially as you know the circumstances around the death. There are still quite a lot of questions.
“In this regard, investigations are still underway. And of course, it doesn’t end here at OR Tambo.
“This is a transit point. We do understand that around 1 p.m. they’ll be heading to King Shaka International Airport in KwaZulu-Natal. And then thereafter, they’ll be going down to the northern part of KZN in KwaMbonambi in the homestead,” reported Khayelihle Khumalo.
Special Official Funeral Scheduled in KwaMbonambi
President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared that Mthethwa will receive a special official funeral category two. The funeral will take place in his hometown of KwaMbonambi, KwaZulu-Natal, this Sunday.

The ambassador’s body departed Paris accompanied by his family and is expected to travel from OR Tambo to King Shaka International Airport before proceeding to KwaMbonambi for the funeral.
