Born in Port Elizabeth, Ben-Mazwi initially pursued a career in business, studying business science and working as a corporate strategist. However, her passion for acting led her to make a bold move in 2012 when she left her corporate role to chase her dreams in New York.
Since then, she has built a diverse portfolio, taking on a wide range of characters across different productions. Her commitment to her craft has seen her grow into a respected and versatile performer both locally and internationally.
Her achievements include being named a recipient at the 6th Annual International Women of Wonder Awards in 2020. She also featured in Beyoncé’s Black Is King and has continued to secure roles and accolades in the years that followed.
Lead Role In Tatort Marks Major International Breakthrough
Ben-Mazwi’s latest role sees her cast as Moya in Tatort, the longest-running crime drama on German-language television. The production, titled Tatort: Könige Der Nacht, represents a significant step in her international career.
To prepare for the role, she undertook the challenge of learning Swiss German, rehearsing extensively with her co-stars ahead of filming, which began at the end of September 2025.

The highly anticipated episode is set to air across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria on Sunday, 3 May.
Reflecting on the experience, Ben-Mazwi shared: “A pinch me moment that I could keep frozen in time. 2 months of memories as a leading lady in Switzerland. 🇨🇭 🎬 #Tatort,” Nambiths said.
