Naked Man Arrested In Cape Town After Disarming Police Officer In Public Scuffle

Cape Town police faced a shocking scene on Wednesday when a naked man was spotted causing a disturbance on Keerom Street around 1pm. Witnesses reported the unusual sight, prompting a swift police response.

Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, provincial police spokesperson, said, “On arrival at the scene, police found a young naked man who refused to cooperate and cover himself. A scuffle ensued during which the man took the firearm from one member and discharged shots, fortunately no one was hit.”

Dramatic Police Struggle Ends with Arrest

The confrontation quickly escalated, but three police officers were able to regain control and overpower the suspect. “They arrested him on charges related to the robbery of a firearm, discharge of a firearm in a public space and public indecency,” added Pojie.

Authorities confirmed that while shots were fired during the altercation, no injuries were reported. The quick response prevented the situation from turning even more dangerous.

The man is expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court in the coming days to face multiple charges. Police continue to urge the public to report suspicious activity promptly to prevent similar incidents.
