N2 Closed After Head-On Collision Between Two Trucks On Kaaimans Pass

Traffic on the N2 near Wilderness has come to a standstill following a serious head-on collision between two trucks on Kaaimans Pass on Sunday. The incident has forced authorities to close the road in both directions, with emergency services currently on the scene.
Motorists have been warned that no alternative routes are available, and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
Authorities Urge Patience as N2 Recovery Operations Continue
George Municipality spokesperson Debra Sauer confirmed that recovery and clean-up operations are under way but cautioned that there is no estimated time for reopening.

“Kaaimans Pass is closed to traffic in both directions and will remain closed until further notice.
“No estimated time of reopening is available at this stage, and no alternative routes are currently available. The public is urged to avoid the area and to exercise patience while emergency teams attend to the incident,” Sauer said.
The road closure is expected to remain in place for at least another two hours while officials work to clear debris and assess structural safety along the mountain pass.
