Mzansi Drags Cici For Seductive Dance With Schoolboy: “If It Was A Man, He’d Be Arrested!”| WATCH

South African singer Cici is catching serious heat after a performance gone all the way left in KwaZulu-Natal this week. Sis thought she was serving a moment — instead, she’s serving controversy.
The Runaway hitmaker found herself at the centre of a social media storm after a video of her dancing suggestively with a young male fan during her performance at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) went viral. What was meant to be a flirty stage moment quickly turned into a full-blown scandal, with Mzansi accusing the singer of crossing serious boundaries.
The performance that went left
Cici, dressed in a daring cut-out dress and thigh-high boots, was performing in front of a largely student audience when she called a young fan on stage. She told the crowd that the song was meant for her partner — but since he wasn’t there, she’d “make do” with a random fan.
She took the boy by the hand — yes, in front of what looked like a crowd of students — and started performing around him in a way that was… let’s just say not very PG. The poor kid looked shy, stiff, and visibly unsure, while the singer leaned in, dancing suggestively and wearing his hat at one point.

It didn’t take long for the DJ to step in and cut the music, ending the moment before it went any further. But by then? The damage was done. The clip was already circulating online, and within hours, #Cici was trending for all the wrong reasons.

Mzansi Drags Her: “That’s Harassment, Arrest Her!”
The internet erupted, and the takes came flying:
@SibuDlamini: “That’s harassment. If a male artist did this to a young girl, we’d be marching.”
@TheRealNomsa2021: “Sies! What is she doing to that poor boy? The child looks traumatised.”
@Mtwanaamanda34: “She needs to explain this nonsense. That wasn’t a performance, that was weird.”
@Kuhle_M: “Imagine Cassper Nyovest or Kabza pulling a kid up and grinding on her… NO! She needs to be called out.”

Others tried defending her, saying people were being dramatic — but most agreed that the school-like setting made everything feel off. One user summed it up perfectly:
@GabsOnX: “Cici wasn’t reading the room. We can’t be sexualising performances in front of learners. Come on now.”
Cici’s “Sexy” Performance Crossed the Line
Let’s be honest — there’s a time and place for steamy stage antics, but a crowd of learners is not it. Cici’s decision to pull a young fan into her “grown woman” moment has left even her loyal fans side-eyeing her judgment.
It’s giving PR nightmare, it’s giving tone-deaf, and it’s definitely giving “read the crowd, sis.”
South Africans have also pointed out that if the roles were reversed — if a male artist had pulled a female student on stage for a suggestive dance — there would be outrage, statements, and possibly legal action.
Cici’s silence fuels the fire
As of now, Cici has not issued a statement or apology regarding the viral clip. Her social media pages remain active but quiet, with her most recent posts flooded by comments calling her out.
Some fans even demanded that UKZN release a statement condemning the incident, arguing that the performance was inappropriate for a campus crowd.
