Murder-Accused Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe Returns To Court In DJ Killings Case

Businessman Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe is set to appear again at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Thursday morning. Molefe, along with three co-accused, faces serious charges related to the deaths of DJs Oupa Sefoka, known as DJ Sumbody, and Hector ‘DJ Vintos’ Buthelezi.

Katiso was denied bail last month, and all accused remain in custody as the State pursues its case. Prosecutors allege that Katiso orchestrated the killings with the assistance of his co-accused.

State Links Molefe to Multiple Contract Killings

During bail proceedings, investigators told the court that Katiso faces charges including murder and conspiracy to commit murder. These charges are connected to a series of alleged contract killings targeting DJs.

The State highlighted forensic evidence linking high-calibre rifles used in DJ Sumbody’s killing to other high-profile murders, including DJ Vintos and Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart.

The state also revealed that Molefe has a previous drug-related conviction in the United Kingdom and had used a false passport for international travel.

These revelations form part of the case presented to the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court as prosecutors prepare to further link Katiso and his co-accused to the alleged contract killings.
