Multiple Arrests In Verulam CBD As SAPS And Security Agencies Launch Joint Crime Operation

A large-scale joint operation in Verulam’s Central Business District (CBD), KwaZulu-Natal, resulted in multiple arrests on Friday.

The South African Police Service (SAPS), Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), Metro Police, Sector One Crime Watch, and several private security companies collaborated in the operation.

The initiative was launched under the leadership of Verulam SAPS Vispol Commander Colonel Strydom and spearheaded by Captain Mark Parakasim. Authorities confirmed the operation is part of ongoing crime-prevention strategies focusing on identified hotspots in the CBD.

During the sweep, police arrested several undocumented foreign nationals as well as individuals suspected of drug use. These arrests form part of a broader campaign to curb illegal activities and restore safety in the area.

Following the successful Verulam CBD crackdown, Crime Prevention Operations continued in Waterloo, KwaZulu-Natal.
