Mthethwa Family Urges SA And French Police To Uncover Truth Behind Ambassador’s Death

The family of the late South African Ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, has appealed for close collaboration between South African and French law enforcement to ensure a transparent investigation into his death.
Mthethwa, aged 58, tragically passed away last week after reportedly falling from the 22nd floor of a hotel in France. His death has left both his loved ones and the diplomatic community in shock.
Speaking at Mthethwa’s home in Kwambonambi, his brother-in-law Khulekani Buthelezi expressed the family’s gratitude towards the authorities for taking the matter seriously.
Call for Joint Investigation Between France and South Africa
Buthelezi said the family believes that cooperation between the two countries’ investigative teams will help provide the clarity they seek.
“Yes, we do, and I think combining different groups and skills to achieve a certain outcome, in this case, will result in a report that provides facts about what transpired,” said Buthelezi.

“We would like to thank the government for this initiative, and we understand that the investigative team has travelled to France to collaborate with French investigators. We hope that, with a team of diverse skills, the outcome will be as expected: the truth, nothing more.”
The South African investigative team has already arrived in France to work alongside their French counterparts in uncovering the full circumstances surrounding Mthethwa’s death.
