Whew! South Africans are fuming after a shocking video surfaced showing the 17-year-old daughter of late Kwaito icon Mshoza being physically attacked by a male learner at a Pretoria school — while he insulted her late mother in the most disgusting way imaginable.

The fight allegedly went down at Christian Progressive College on Monday, 20 October, and baby, the details are sickening. According to Mshoza’s sister Seipati Ngele, who’s the teen’s guardian, the boy didn’t just hit her — he kicked, punched and slapped her, all while other students screamed for him to stop.

The young girl — who cannot be named due to her age — is said to be recovering at home after being “beaten black and blue”.

And get this — the boy  whose identity also remains protected by law, allegedly hurled vile insults about the late singer during the attack, shouting mid-fight: “That’s why your mother died and left you, you sl*t. I’m glad Mshoza died because she was a sl*t!

Mshoza’s Girl Attacked in the Classroom

According to Ngele, her niece was chilling with her feet on her desk when the boy told her to remove them — mind you, he’s not even in her class or a prefect! When she ignored him, he reportedly lost it, grabbed her, pushed her against the wall and went full WWE on her.

“He just started hitting her. Punches, kicks, everything. She’s bruised and swollen,” Ngele told Sunday World.

The school principal, Mutsai Makore, was reportedly called to intervene. However, Ngele claims the principal dismissed the severity of the attack, saying her niece had “provoked” the boy.

“He concluded that the girl provoked him to a point where he became angry and hit her. No one was suspended,” Ngele said. “He even told learners to delete the CCTV footage, but thankfully, some took videos.”

Following what she described as a “disappointing response” from the school, Ngele opened a case of assault at the police station.

“I’m still waiting for the case number. They said no arrest can be made because he’s a minor,” she said. “The child is traumatised — she’s bruised, swollen, and struggling to sleep.”

School Defends Itself Amid Backlash

In response, Principal Makore offered a conflicting version of events, claiming that both learners were to blame and that the girl allegedly hit the boy first.

“We brought both learners in to speak, and they apologised to each other,” said Makore. “The girl’s parents refused to attend a disciplinary hearing. Both went against the school’s code of conduct.”

The school insists that it does not condone violence, yet many social media users have accused it of “protecting the aggressor” and “failing Mshoza’s daughter twice — in the classroom and in justice.”

Mzansi Outraged: “This Is Heartbreaking”

Since the video surfaced online, public outrage has been widespread. Many South Africans have condemned both the boy’s actions and the school’s handling of the matter.

“To speak about a deceased mother like that is beyond cruel — that’s trauma that will stay with her for life,” one X user wrote.
“Imagine losing your mom and being bullied because of it — this child needs therapy and protection, not excuses,” said another.

The late Mshoza — known for hits like Cortés and Abantu Bam — passed away in November 2020 at just 37 years old, after reported diabetes complications. She left behind two children: a son (now 14) and the daughter currently at the centre of this heartbreaking case.

As the investigation continues, South Africans are demanding accountability — not only from the school but from a system that too often silences young girls.
