Mzansi never sleeps! The streets are buzzing after Mpumelelo Mseleku, the firstborn son of famous polygamist Musa Mseleku, was spotted at Addington Hospital in Durban this week — and chaos followed shortly after.

According to a very excited birdy, Mpumelelo was seen at the public hospital on Wednesday evening, supporting his wife, Amahle Biyela, who was allegedly in labour. The insider claims Amahle gave birth to her first child on Wednesday and was discharged on Friday, with both mom and baby doing well.

Big congratulations are in order — Mpumelelo is now officially a father of four, while Amahle steps into motherhood for the first time. Awww, enjoy, doll!

But of course… this is Mzansi. The congratulations didn’t last long.

Why Mpumelelo Mseleku’s Baby Was Born at Public Hospital

As soon as the news hit social media timelines, tongues started wagging. People quickly questioned why Amahle gave birth at a public hospital, especially when Mpumelelo’s first wife, Tirelo Kale, previously delivered her baby at a private hospital. HAYIBO?!

However, loyal viewers of Izingane Zesthembu were quick to remind everyone: during the last season, it was revealed that Tirelo was covered under her mother’s medical aid at the time. Even Singa confirmed it on the show. So yes — that “soft life” had backup.

 

This also reignited another old conversation. Fans noticed that Amahle never had pregnancy photoshoots on Uthando Nesthembu, while Tirelo had full-blown maternity content. Mpumelelo himself once admitted that Tirelo funded those shoots and even endorsed them. Her money? Apparently long. Very long.

Now, some social media users argue Mpumelelo could’ve easily dropped R50K for a private hospital. Others laughed and said, “Clearly you don’t know Mpumelelo.” The man is known for cutting costs first before opening his wallet — public hospital included.
