Mpumalanga Doctor Fatally Shot Outside Gym

The police in Nelspruit are currently investigating a tragic incident where a 34-year-old woman was shot and killed outside a gym early this morning, Wednesday, 20 November 2024, at approximately 5:30 AM.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the female victim was a medical doctor employed at a public hospital. The motive for her killing remains unknown at this stage.

Incident Details

Upon responding to a call, Nelspruit police and paramedics discovered the victim outside her vehicle. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Current investigations suggest that the woman was shot by two suspects who are currently at large. No arrests have been made thus far, and the police are actively pursuing the suspects.

Official Statement After Doctor Shot Dead

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has strongly condemned the senseless killing and assured the public that the investigation team will exhaust all resources to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“The well-formidable team of investigators is working around the clock to ensure that those responsible are swiftly brought to book,” stated Major General Mkhwanazi.
