Mozambican Suspect In DJ Warras Murder Set To Return To Court Next Week

A Mozambican national accused in the murder of popular Johannesburg DJ, Warrick Stock — widely known as DJ Warras — is scheduled to return to court next week for further proceedings.

Armindo Pacula, 25, appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Monday, facing charges that include premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and violations of the Immigration Act.

Arrested in Germiston, Bail Likely to Be Opposed

Pacula was apprehended on Friday evening in a Primrose informal settlement, Germiston. The DJ was killed last year on Reconciliation Day while reportedly installing security cameras at the Zambesi building. Reports say he was shot by individuals described as “passersby.”

The state has already denied bail for the first accused, Victor Majola, alleged to have orchestrated the attack on Stock. Prosecutors have also indicated that they will oppose any bail application Pacula may submit.

DJ Warras Court Proceedings 

During Monday’s hearing, the court noted that Pacula’s residential details remain unverified. Regarding his documentation, he informed the magistrate that the state is in possession of his ID, which still requires confirmation.

The magistrate emphasised that Pacula must secure legal representation due to the serious nature of the charges he faces. He is scheduled to appear in court alongside Majola on 11 February.
