A brutal stabbing incident shocked residents of Waterloo in KwaZulu-Natal after an intoxicated man attacked a mother and her six-year-old child in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the incident occurred at a residence on Python Road at approximately 04:38. Neighbours reported that the suspect, believed to be the woman’s boyfriend, arrived intoxicated and demanded entry into the home. When the mother refused, he allegedly broke a window to gain access before stabbing both the woman and her child.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack. The injured mother and child were rushed to hospital privately before paramedics and first responders arrived. The extent of their injuries remains unknown.
