Mmabatho Montsho Beams With Pride As Hubby Mbuyiseni Ndlozi Lands Radio Gig

It’s a new chapter for former EFF MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi as he ditches party politics and steps into the world of radio. The firebrand politician-turned-broadcaster is set to host the Power Talk Show on Power FM starting March 3, 2025—and his wife, actress and filmmaker Mmabatho Montsho, couldn’t be prouder!

Taking to social media, Montsho gushed over her husband’s new career milestone, sharing a sweet message on X: “Now we’re talking! Congratulations, Mathetha.”

Ndlozi’s transition from politics to media comes just weeks after he announced his resignation from the EFF and Parliament, stating that he wants to contribute to civil society beyond party lines.

From Parliament to Power FM

During an interview with Power FM, Ndlozi expressed his excitement about his new role, saying he looks forward to engaging with listeners and shaping intellectual discourse.

“Radio, more than any other medium, presents the listener’s voice and capacity on the spot. It is driven by that interaction. I am looking forward to that, but also to staging the intellectual resources that help our people live their lives better.”

He revealed that his show will focus on topics including community development, business, education, arts, and politics.

 

Ndlozi has made it clear that he’s stepping away from party politics, explaining:

“I have taken a decision to step away from party politics. I have left the EFF. I have left party politics. I have handed in my resignation as a member because where I want to go and contribute, I can’t hold a single party membership.”

While some were surprised by his exit from the red berets, Ndlozi believes his true calling lies in civil society activism.

“The terrain of struggle that has been neglected in the years is the civil society space. I’m interested in it because it is where you are able to cultivate and agitate [for] the notions of freedom, where liberation is about the people.”

He even compared his ambitions to what AfriForum does for the Afrikaner community, suggesting that Black South Africans need similar advocacy structures.
