Minnie Dlamini’s Birthday Bash Goes Bust

South African media personality Minnie Dlamini found herself in a less-than-celebratory mood after landing in London to mark her birthday with her best friend, Kyra Roberts.

The TV host and actress had planned a weekend filled with fun and photoshoots. However, things took a nosedive when her luggage failed to arrive with her.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Minnie let her frustrations be known. On 14 July, she tweeted, “BA lost my luggage 😭 @british_airways. Just landed in London to celebrate my birthday with my bestie. Luggage didn’t land with me though.

“No clothes, no toiletries, what a nightmare. I have photoshoots planned for work but I have none of my stuff to shoot.” Her tweet quickly gained traction, given her 4.5 million followers on the platform.

In a follow-up tweet, Minnie expressed her disappointment further: “All I got at baggage claim was this t-shirt 😭😭😭😭😭. So much for my birthday sho’t left 💔 All I wanted to do was spoil myself after a weekend of working my a** off to celebrate with my girl 😭 I’m so sad I won’t lie.” Her followers empathized with her plight, flooding her feed with support and advice.

The luggage drama didn’t end there. On the second day, Minnie updated her followers, saying, “Day 2 in London, my bags are still not here 🤣.”

By day three, her patience had worn thin, and she called out British Airways once again: “Day 3 in London. I’m leaving tomorrow to go back home and I still don’t have my bag @british_airways. This is beyond messed up!!! My bag arrived in the UK yesterday morning. Yoh hayi this inconvenienced me beyond!!!”
