Minnie Dlamini Breaks Silence On Sol Phenduka’s Kaya FM Firing Amid Ongoing Court Battle

Television star Minnie Dlamini has distanced herself from Sol Phenduka’s shocking dismissal from Kaya FM.

The radio host, who reportedly earned R100,000 a month, was dropped from the station’s breakfast show on Monday, 1 September 2025, following backlash over remarks he made about Dlamini on Mac G’s Podcast and Chill.

In a statement to News24, Dlamini clarified: “While I’m not involved in Kaya 959’s internal decisions, I do appreciate that institutions are recognising the seriousness of the derogatory remarks that were made.”

Sol Phenduka Fired Over Podcast Remarks

Kaya FM confirmed Phenduka’s exit, stressing that the station would not tolerate derogatory and misogynistic comments.

“Kaya 959 cannot and will not condone comments made on the MacG podcast, where Sol Phenduka is an integral part of the presenting team. Misogynistic remarks made about actress Minnie Dlamini were unacceptable and inconsistent with respect owed to women,” the station said.

While distancing herself from Phenduka’s firing, Dlamini continues to fight a R2.5 million Equality Court case against him and his co-host, Mac G Mukwevho. The charges include hate speech, unfair discrimination, and gender-based harassment.
