Megan Moodley Fights Bail Denial In Global Child Exploitation Case

Megan Moodley, accused of running an international child sexual exploitation network with her boyfriend, Darren Wilken, is contesting the court’s refusal to grant her bail.

The pair, facing several serious charges—including the production and distribution of child sexual abuse material and money laundering—returned to the Randburg Magistrates Court this week for the continuation of their case.

Earlier this year, both Moodley and Wilken were denied bail. On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Moodley is now formally challenging that ruling.

Megan Moodley Case: Prosecutor Calls for Delay

Prosecutor Elize le Roux told the court that although the investigation has been concluded, the proceedings cannot move forward until bail-related matters are resolved.

“It would be nonsensical for us to proceed to serve the accused (and transfer them) prior to bail issues being dealt with.

“For that reason, your worship, I have arranged a date with the defence for the 22nd of October back to this court for purposes of finalisation of the bail-related issues. We are hoping that all of that will be resolved by the time we arrive back in this court,” said le Roux.

The Randburg Magistrates Court has postponed the matter to 22 October to allow for finalisation of the bail issues. Until then, both Moodley and Wilken remain behind bars as their high-profile case continues to unfold.
