Mary Twala’s Funeral Virtually Attended By More Than 100 000 People

The funeral service was held in Soweto, Johannesburg, with only a limited number of attendees, due to lockdown restrictions. However, more than 100 000 people virtually attended the funeral via the livestream.

Veteran actress, Mary Twala was laid to her final resting place today after she passed away on Saturday.  Mam Mary was a well-respected actress in the industry having marked a solid mark in the entertainment industry and she’ll be forever missed.

The funeral service was held in Soweto, Johannesburg, with only a limited number of attendees, due to lockdown restrictions. However, more than 100 000 people virtually attended the funeral via the Livestream, showing that they care and will always be there for the Mhlongo family.

Her funeral service was filled with a lot of tribute videos from industry friends such as Connie Chiume, Presley Chweneyagae and Carol Bouwer. Gospel singer, Rebecca Malope, who gave a very powerful and touching performance whilst special moments between Mary and her Son Somizi were being played throughout the ceremony.

Somizi paid tribute to her mother with an emotional speech, thanking her mother for always being there for him and for contributing to his success over the years.

To one of the greatest actresses  Mzansi has ever seen, the entertainment industry will ever be the same without you. Rest well, Queen!!
