Married At First Sight’ Star Palesa Mphaki Finally Spills On Lemon Cream Saga — And Tshepo Miya’s Meltdown!

The Married at First Sight South Africa alum sat down with Relebogile Mabotja on 10 October 2025 for an emotional (and slightly shady) chat about her failed marriage to Tshepo Miya, her family dynamics, and, of course, the now-iconic Lemon Cream biscuit incident that had Mzansi screaming back in the day. And trust, Palesa didn’t hold back.

The Lemon Cream That Broke the Marriage

Let’s rewind to the viral saga that started it all: Palesa once told viewers that Tshepo allegedly lost his mind after she ate the last Lemon Cream biscuit from their packet — a biscuit he apparently “saved for himself.”  Yes, you read that right — a biscuit.

But according to Palesa, there was more to it than snacks and crumbs. She revealed that she and Tshepo had been discussing a diet after he opened up about his health issues.

“The diet conversation came when Tshepo told me that he was once admitted because his heart stopped,” she explained.

“What I did was from a level of caring about him and not wanting that to happen again.”

So basically, sis says she was trying to save his life, not steal his Lemon Creams. But when the cameras started rolling, it turned into a full-on meltdown — one for the Married at First Sight history books.

Bakers Came Through, Not the Marriage

After the show aired, the biscuit drama reached such legendary levels that Bakers, the makers of Lemon Creams, sent Palesa a whole care package of snacks. Talk about turning pain into pastries.

Palesa laughed about the gesture in her interview, calling it one of the few light-hearted moments to come from the entire ordeal. But it’s clear that while Bakers saw a marketing opportunity, the viewers saw red flags.

The interview pulled in over 90,000 views and 600+ comments, with social media users divided right down the middle.
