Man’s Body Found Tied With Rope And Dumped In Epping Forest

Residents of Epping Forest, Cape Town were left shocked on Monday morning after the discovery of a man’s body dumped in a field, bound with a rope.

The grim find was made around 6am off Forest Drive, behind the Old Apostolic Church and close to The Range Primary School.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that Elsies River police have opened a murder case and investigations are under way.

“According to reports the victim was found tied up with a rope. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and arrests are yet to be made,” Twigg said.

Community Concerns

Gerrit Rass, public relations officer for the Elsies River Community Policing Forum (CPF), said the forum was aware of the incident but could not provide details as the case was under investigation.

“This is not a regular occurrence, but we have had a few in the past where people were killed in other areas and dumped in our area,” Rass explained.
