Manhunt Intensifies For Linda ‘Mjinja’ Hlongwa In Connection With Murder Of Girlfriend And Mother

Police in KwaZulu-Natal are on high alert as they hunt for Linda Hlongwa, also known as ‘Mjinja’ or ‘Putin.

Linda Hlongwa is placed on wanted alert in connection with the murder of his 22-year-old girlfriend and her 52-year-old mother.

The two women were shot and killed by Linda Hlongwa at their home in Income Road, Pinetown, on March 18, 2025.

Wanted For Previous Crimes

Hlongwa has been wanted by authorities since September 2024 and has a history of crime.

In 2020, he was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition but was released pending ballistic results.

He has since ignored summons to appear in court and is also wanted for extortion-related crimes.

Community Assistance Sought

Police are appealing to community members to assist in locating Hlongwa to bring an end to his alleged killing spree.
