Man Sentenced To 65 Years For Murder Of Elderly Couple
A devastating crime that shook the quiet community of Parow Valley has finally seen justice served.
Reagan Fenner, a 35-year-old man from Delft, has been sentenced to an effective 25 years in prison for the brutal murder of elderly couple Betsy and Pieter Senekal.

The couple, both in their 70s, were brutally beaten to death during a house robbery in November 2023.
A Heinous Crime
The incident sent shockwaves through the community when the bodies of the couple were discovered by a neighbor.
It is believed that the neighbor noticed a hole in the roof and inspected the property, finding Betsy, 76, lying in one room and her husband, Pieter, 72, in another.

The police investigation, led by Lieutenant-Colonel Adrian Pretorius, revealed that two men had broken into the home, brutally beating the couple to death.
Fenner and his accomplice, Rudi Kruger, were arrested and charged with the crime.
A Long Road To Justice
Fenner pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 25 years on each count of murder and 15 years for the robbery.
Kruger is set to return to court on March 13 for the appointment of a legal representative as he prepares to go on trial.
The case has been a long and difficult one for the community, but the sentencing of Fenner brings some measure of justice and closure to the Senekal family and those affected.
