Man Sentenced To 3 Life Terms For Raping His Daughter And 2 Stepdaughters For Over 16 Years

A Worcester Regional Court has handed down a staggering sentence to a man found guilty of raping his own daughter and two stepdaughters. He received three life sentences alongside an additional 15 years’ direct imprisonment.

The court ruled that all sentences will run concurrently, meaning the convicted man is effectively sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed that the sexual assaults took place over a 16-year period, spanning from 2005 to 2021.

Worcester Court Delivers Life Sentences in Sexual Abuse Case

NPA spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila highlighted the broader implications of the ruling, saying, “The court has declared [the accused] unfit to possess a firearm and ordered his name to be entered into the National Register for Sex Offenders.”

He added, “The NPA welcomes this sentence as it is another indicator of the State’s efforts to fight GBV and the abuse of the most vulnerable in our society.”

This ruling shows South Africa’s ongoing commitment to combating gender-based violence and protecting victims, particularly minors, from long-term abuse.
