Man Arrested For Murdering 67-Year-Old Son And Raping His 85-Year-Old Mother
Tseki police have arrested a 38-year-old suspect from Khosheng Section, Monontsha Village, in Qwaqwa, following a horrific attack that left one man dead and his elderly mother traumatised.
According to police, the suspect is linked to the murder of a 67-year-old man and the rape of his 85-year-old mother.
Son Killed After Responding to Mother’s Call for Help
The incident happened on Sunday, 14 September 2025, at around 22:30. The elderly woman was asleep when an intruder allegedly broke into her home. She immediately called her son for assistance.
When he arrived, he confronted the suspect, who allegedly overpowered him and stabbed him multiple times with a sharp object. Police confirmed that the 67-year-old died instantly at the scene.

After the murder, the suspect allegedly turned on the 85-year-old woman and raped her. Police traced and arrested him in the early hours of Monday morning, 15 September 2025.
He is scheduled to appear before the Tseki Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, facing charges of murder and rape.
