Man In His Twenties Fatally Shot In Drive By Shooting

A man in his twenties was tragically shot and killed on Thursday evening at the intersection of Che Guevara and Cleaver Roads in Davenport, Durban.

The victim’s vehicle, which was struck by multiple gunshots, crashed into a nearby wall.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and an investigation is underway.

Fatal Shooting Leads To Vehicle Crash

The incident occurred just after 6pm when the victim was shot at the busy intersection.

ALS Paramedics, who were called to the scene, found multiple security personnel already present, and the area had been cordoned off for safety.

Upon arrival, paramedics discovered the victim inside a vehicle that had crashed into a wall along the roadside.

“Paramedics arrived to find multiple security personnel in attendance with the area cornered off.

“They were directed to the vehicle, where the victim, a male in his twenties, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.”

Paramedics Confirm Death

Despite immediate efforts to provide medical assistance, paramedics were unable to save the young man.

“Paramedics assessed a male in the vehicle, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

“Unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene,” ALS Paramedics stated.

SAPS Launches Investigation

The South African Police Service (SAPS) arrived at the scene shortly after the paramedics and have initiated a formal investigation into the incident.

At this stage, the exact circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown.

“At this stage, the events leading up to the shooting are unknown, however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further,” ALS Paramedics confirmed.
