Man Arrested In Mamelodi Sisters’ Murder Was One Of The Women’s Boyfriend, Family Reveals

The family of two Mamelodi sisters who were gunned down in cold blood is still struggling to make sense of the horrific attack that claimed their lives.
Baleseng Moramaga, 21, and her sister, Tshiamo Moramaga, 22, were shot in the early hours of Sunday morning after spending the night out together. Their family describes the young women as inseparable and deeply devoted to one another.
Police confirmed that a 38-year-old man was arrested on Monday in connection with the killings. He faces two counts of murder and one of attempted murder after allegedly shooting a third person, who survived and was rushed to hospital.
Suspect Identified as Victim’s Boyfriend
The sisters’ aunt, Maki Moramaga, revealed that the suspect was in a relationship with one of the victims, Tshiamo. She believes that the attack may have started as a domestic dispute that spiralled into tragedy.

“The suspect was Tshiamo’s boyfriend. What I think happened is that Baleseng was trying to protect her sister, and that’s when he decided to kill them both,” Moramaga stated.
She added that the family is consumed by anger and heartbreak. “I don’t even want to see him in court,” she said.

The Moramaga sisters had moved from Lukau Village in Limpopo to Mamelodi, hoping to build a better future together. Family members say they were like twins, always supporting each other through life’s challenges.
The 38-year-old suspect is expected to make his first court appearance at the Mamelodi Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
