Man Arrested For Attempted Murder During Eviction In Limpopo

A 44-year-old man has been arrested for attempted murder following a shooting incident that occurred during an eviction in Ladanna, outside Polokwane in Limpopo.

According to reports, the suspect allegedly shot and injured two enforcement officials on Wednesday at Ga-Rena Rental Village.

Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba stated that the shooting took place during the enforcement of an eviction order at the suspect’s residence.

An altercation ensued between the man and the enforcement officials, leading to the suspect allegedly discharging a firearm and injuring two individuals.

In the wake of the shooting, both injured officials were transported to a hospital for medical attention. The suspect was apprehended at the scene by responding police officers.

During the arrest, two firearms with ammunition were confiscated, one of which is believed to have been used in the incident. The firearms will undergo ballistic testing as part of the investigation.

The suspect, who reportedly owns a security company, is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon to face charges of attempted murder.

The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to ensure all aspects are thoroughly examined.
