Man Abducted And Hands Chopped Off In Mpumalanga

A 30-year-old man was abducted at gunpoint and had both his hands chopped off in Vosman, Mpumalanga. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the victim was walking on the Kromdraai Road towards Extension 16.

According to the Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the man was accosted by six men in a green Opel Corsa bakkie. The suspects pointed a gun at him, forcibly grabbed him, and forced him into the bakkie.

Once inside, they tied up his hands and legs. The victim reported that the suspects communicated their intention to kill him, and that was the only message he heard from them.

After abducting the man, the suspects drove him into the bushes where they carried out their brutal act. They chopped off both his hands and fled the scene, leaving the victim in a state of shock and extreme pain. Fortunately, he was later found by security officers who immediately alerted the police and called for medical assistance.

The victim is currently recovering in the hospital, where he is receiving the necessary medical care and support. The incident has left the community outraged and fearful, as such acts of violence are rare in this area.

The police have opened a case of attempted murder and are actively pursuing the suspects involved in this heinous crime. Mpumalanga Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has expressed her determination to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and brought to justice.

Speaking about the incident, Commissioner Manamela condemned the actions of the suspects, describing them as heartless and deserving of the strongest condemnation. She reassured the community that every effort would be made to apprehend the individuals responsible for this brutal act.
