Mamelodi Double Murder Case Postponed To May Amid Outstanding Reports

The case against a man accused of murdering two cousins in Mamelodi has been postponed by the Mamelodi Magistrates Court.

Tebogo Mnisi (38) was arrested in October last year in connection with the deaths of Tshiamo Moramaga (22) and Baleseng Moramaga (21). He also faces a charge of attempted murder relating to a man who was present during the incident.

Mnisi has remained behind bars since his arrest after abandoning his bail application.

Court Proceedings Delayed Due To Outstanding Medical Reports

During a brief court appearance on Thursday, it emerged that crucial documentation, including a J88 form and one post-mortem report, is still outstanding.

These reports are considered essential to the progression of the case and have contributed to the delay.

Charges Include Premeditated Murder And Firearm Offences

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana confirmed that the matter has been postponed to 20 May for further investigation.

“He is facing charges of two counts of premeditated murder of two female cousins from Mamelodi, attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of unlawful ammunition,” said Mahanjana.

The case will return to court once the outstanding evidence has been finalised.
