Mamelodi Double Murder: 38-Year-Old Arrested After Two Women Shot Dead

A 38-year-old man has been apprehended in connection with the tragic deaths of two young women in Mamelodi, east of Pretoria, over the weekend.

Tshiamo Moramaga, 21, and Baleseng Moramaga, 22, were discovered shot dead in Mamelodi East in the early hours of Sunday morning following a night out.

Police have confirmed that a third person was also shot during the incident but survived and is currently receiving medical attention.

Arrest Made by Gauteng Violent Crime Unit Detectives

Authorities say the suspect was arrested by detectives from Gauteng’s Violent Crime Unit at a petrol station in Pretoria. He now faces two counts of murder for the deaths of Baleseng and Tshiamo Moramaga.

Investigations revealed that while only two women were found at the crime scene, further inquiries confirmed a third victim had been wounded during the attack.

The 38-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in the Mamelodi Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have appealed to the public for any additional information.
