Julius Malema addressed the controversy surrounding Chidimma Adetshina, emphasizing the importance of citizenship determined by birth. He stated, “Your citizenship is determined by where you were born. So, if she was born here, she is South African.

“It doesn’t matter. She is not her parents; she is herself. So why do you say she’s from Nigeria or she’s from Mozambique? She was born here. We cannot punish people on the basis of where their parents come from.”

Adetshina expressed her disappointment and hurt over the cyber attacks, sharing in an Instagram story: “It’s really sad that my parents are unable to be happy and celebrate my wins because of all the noise. I really hope one day we live in a world where we can be united as one and allow each other to thrive.”
