Makhadzi’s Car Damaged By Fans In DRC And Congolese Are Calling It Love

So Makhadzi went to Congo and almost didn’t make it back in one piece — and no, we’re not being dramatic, the video is right here.
On Friday, 19 June 2026, hundreds of fans in the Democratic Republic of Congo completely abandoned all sense and swarmed the Limpopo queen like their lives depended on it. Her transport got a broken bumper as a souvenir, she was visibly shaken, and yet here she is on social media telling us it was love. Sis is built different, we’ll give her that.
Makhadzi Mobbed In Congo Proves African Fans Hit Completely Different — And The Video Is Proof
Makhadzi took to her socials to unpack the madness herself, and the way she balanced genuine fear with gratitude is honestly a masterclass in grace under pressure.
She made it crystal clear that nobody put their hands on her in anger — this was pure, unhinged, chaotic love from the Congolese people, the kind that breaks bumpers and stops traffic.
She even apologised to the driver whose car took the real casualties of her fame, because apparently being a continental superstar means also being accountable for your fans’ behaviour. Queen behaviour only.

Why The DRC Mob Scene Is Actually Makhadzi’s Biggest Career Flex Of 2026
Here’s what nobody is saying loudly enough — Makhadzi didn’t go to the DRC with a massive promo budget or an international label pushing her name. The Congolese people found her through her music, through those Venda-infused house rhythms that somehow hit in Kinshasa the same way they hit in Thohoyandou.
Zimbabwe did it, Malawi did it, and now the DRC has officially lost their minds over her too. At this point calling her a South African artist feels like an understatement — she’s an African problem and the continent has fully accepted the consequences.
Her fans in the comments weren’t exactly rushing to apologise either:
Lethukuthula Ndlovu: “See my queen want to panic yoo am sorry.”
Mutele Phathutshedzo: “Me and Congo people we are the same.”
Hazvinei Melissa: “Makhadzi everyone loves you. Just come out and greet them all they will come.”
Lilly Muleba Ndou: “Be safe Khadzi habe to shoma, we still love you.”

Chaks Mabangu: “You are Queen Makhadzi, all Khadzinators love you. You are our queen, God is always with you, and love.”
Faith Moyo: “They are happy to see you, young lady just relax, come out of the car and greet them. That’s the love they have for you.”
The people have spoken and apparently the verdict is: get out the car, Makhadzi. We’re just glad she got out of that situation in one piece — bumper excluded. But tell us, would YOU have been in that crowd or are you a civilised fan?
