Their fears follow the recent arrest of Member of Parliament Fadiel Adams, who is accused of interfering in the investigation, including visiting a convicted hitman linked to the case.

Sibusiso Ncengwa, who admitted his role in the killing last year, remains a central figure in the matter after pleading guilty.

The murder case involving the former uMzimkhulu councillor is expected to go to trial in about two weeks.

For the first time, the accused — businessman Mbulelo Mpofana and former police officer Sibonelo Myeza — will be joined in court by alleged mastermind Stanley Sikhosana.

Family Speaks Out As Durban Court Appearance Looms

Speaking to SurgeZirc SA, Magaqa’s older brother Lwazi Magaqa warned that the situation could push the case back once again.

“It may prolong the case again because there are things that may be needed from him.”

Meanwhile, Adams is expected to appear in a Durban court later this week as the matter continues to unfold.
