Matjeng concluded her two-day appearance before the commission on Friday, where she addressed allegations surrounding her links to Matlala and the controversial R360 million tender awarded to his company.

Her testimony followed earlier evidence that connected her to several questionable dealings, including claims that she received money and gifts from Matlala during the period under review.

The commission has already named Matjeng as one of five police officials recommended for investigation in an interim report submitted to President Cyril Ramaphosa.

That report highlights concerns over procurement processes, alleged misconduct, and the integrity of senior leadership within the South African Police Service, with Matjeng’s case forming a key part of the inquiry’s findings so far.
