Dr Lindelani Mkhize Breaks Silence On Joyous Celebration Money Drama — “I Never Touched The Account!”

Mzansi, the choir robes are off and the gloves are OUT! Gospel powerhouse Dr Lindelani Mkhize has firmly denied swirling claims that he dipped his hands into the finances of legendary gospel outfit Joyous Celebration — and the drama is getting louder than a Sunday high note.
Reports recently suggested that the founding member and director was entangled in alleged financial and governance irregularities within the multi-award-winning music group. But according to a statement issued on his behalf, Mkhize says not today, not ever.
He has categorically dismissed any suggestion of wrongdoing, insisting he has never had access to the organisation’s bank account — and never authorised any payments.
Joyous Celebration Financial Misconduct Claims — What’s Really Going On?
According to insiders, co-directors within the group have accused Mkhize of financial mismanagement and governance breaches. But his camp says the accusations are rooted in long-running boardroom tensions — not missing money.
The statement makes it clear: Mkhize allegedly never operated the group’s bank account and never handled transactions. Payment processes, it claims, were overseen by an appointed bank transactor within the organisation’s administrative office — and there’s reportedly an audit trail to prove it.

The plot thickens.
Boardroom Tension, Tax Liabilities & Arbitration Showdown
Sources close to the matter suggest that friction within the leadership intensified back in late 2021 when certain members signalled plans to part ways with the brand.
By March 2022, written confirmations had reportedly been exchanged, and Mkhize says he supported a structured separation — but only if the books were independently reviewed and transparently valued.
That’s where things allegedly took a sharp turn.
The statement claims that after financial administration was brought in-house, significant liabilities — including tax-related obligations — began stacking up. Questions have also reportedly been raised about ongoing payments to individuals no longer active in the group.

And now? It’s officially heading to arbitration.
Mkhize maintains that the matter will be settled through due process, where every party will have to account for their actions.
