Limpopo Man Arrested After Reportedly Stoning Security Officer To Death

A 40-year-old man is expected to appear before the Mecklenburg Magistrate’s Court after allegedly stoning a 37-year-old man to death in Tjibeng Village, Limpopo, in the early hours of Saturday, 30 August 2025.
Police spokespersons confirmed they were alerted to the incident at around 02:30. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim lying in the street in a pool of blood with severe head injuries. He was dressed in a black T-shirt, blue trousers, and white takkies.
Numerous stones were found next to the victim’s body. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the scene and certified him dead.

Limpopo Officer Killed
Police immediately opened a murder case and launched a manhunt for the known suspect. By 07:30, just hours after the crime, officers arrested the 40-year-old suspect in the same village.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, but authorities confirmed that the deceased is believed to have been a security officer. His identity will be released once all formalities have been completed.
Limpopo police said investigations into the brutal killing are ongoing. The suspect will face a murder charge when he appears in court.
