Limpopo Artists Movement Frustrated As Shebe Maburna’s Court Case Faces Another Delay

The Limpopo Artists Movement has voiced its disappointment following yet another delay in the case of lekompo musician Lehlohonolo Chauke, widely known as Shebe Maburna.

The matter was postponed to next Friday at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court, where the artist is facing multiple charges. He remains in custody while legal proceedings continue.

Authorities confirmed that the postponement was necessary to allow for profiling and additional investigations into the case.

Charges Against Shebe Disrupt Upcoming Performances

Shebe Maburna is charged with attempted murder, malicious damage to property, and unlawful possession of a firearm. His remand status means he will be unable to attend several weekend performances for which he had already been booked.

Limpopo Artists Movement representative Mphoza Mashabela says the delay has left them disheartened, particularly given the busy entertainment schedule ahead.

“We are just slightly disappointed with the bail application, which will take place next Friday. We are talking about an artist he have gigs this weekend, so we are just slightly disappointed.

“We hope that next week the court will finalize that outstanding case from Lebowakomo and will grant him bail. We are approaching the festive season. We do have quite a number of events in the province.”

Event Bookings Under Threat as Festive Season Nears

With the festive season approaching, the postponement is expected to affect not only Shebe’s bookings but also event organisers and fans anticipating his performances across Limpopo.
