Selena Gomez and her kidney donor Francia Raisa appear to have reconciled after previously disparaging each other online.
In an interview for Apple TV+’s “Dear…,” The Rare Beauty CEO commended Raisa for selflessly donating her kidney in 2017 during the singer’s lupus fight.
“My best friend. Her name is Francia. She said ‘No I am absolutely getting tested,’” Gomez recalled after finding out she needed a transplant.

“Within three days, she went to [get tested], and she was a match. And it was one of those moments where I felt watched over. I know I was so so so lucky,” she said.
She continued, “I will never, ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia. The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.”
While the two appear to be on good terms today, they had a falling out in November after Gomez referred to Taylor Swift as her “one buddy in the industry.”
The remark irritated the “How I Met Your Father” star, who wrote “Interesting” beneath an Instagram picture spotlighting Gomez’s quote.
The vocalist later clapped back at her buddy, tweeting, “Sorry I didn’t mention every individual I know,” on a TikTok video explaining the supposed conflict.
The feud divided fans, with some claiming that Gomez’s statements were taken out of context, while others condemned the “Who Says?” singer for disparaging the person who saved her life.

“I honestly feel like this whole thing was just taken out of proportion and Selena meant the music industry which Francia isn’t part of,” one follower wrote.
“she might genuinely not thing of Francia as an ‘industry friend’ but more as a sister, that was my first thought!” another commented.

For the last few years, the ladies’ friendship has been on and off.
Following Selena’s 2022 documentary “My Mind and Me”, viewers observed that Francia Raisa unfollowed the “Only Murders in the Building” actress on Instagram after she was left nameless in the film.
Fans were taken aback by the action, given that Francia had only recently attended Selena’s 30th birthday celebration at the time.
