Lethabo’s talent agency, Mehlareng, recently announced the big news, confirming that the Skeem Saam actress has landed her first lead role of the year in a TV movie.

“LETHABO MEKOA @lethabo.mekoaa books her 1st role of the year, Congratulations Lethabo on opening the year with another leading role in a TV Movie. We are so proud of you and happy that you are enjoying the set life,” the agency shared.

While details about the movie and her character are still under wraps, one thing’s for sure—Lethabo is about to eat this role up!

Lethabo Mekoa’s Rise to Fame

Acting has been in Lethabo’s DNA since day one! She’s been shining in school plays, church performances, modelling, poetry, presenting, and even sports like hockey and netball. Basically, sis does it all!

Her talent was internationally recognised when she won Best Actress at the International ARTS Talent Showcase and secured a $60,000 scholarship to study at an arts college in Los Angeles. Oh, and did we mention she was also invited to audition for Tyler Perry Studios? Yep, she’s that girl.

After a standout theatre performance in Modjadji at Atterbury Theatre, Lethabo officially became a household name when she joined Skeem Saam as Ntswaki, the rebellious yet lovable teenager. Her portrayal of the character was so powerful that she bagged the Best Viewer’s Choice Actress award at the Royalty Awards 2024.
