KZN Hawks Head Lesetja Senona To Appear Before Madlanga Commission Over SAPS Tender Claims

KwaZulu-Natal Hawks head Major-General Lesetja Senona is expected to testify before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria on Tuesday.
Senona faces allegations of close ties to alleged criminal kingpin Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala, who is currently an accused in an attempted murder case.
The Commission is examining claims that Senona assisted Matlala in securing a R360 million South African Police Service (SAPS) tender.

Evidence presented to the Madlanga Commission has pointed to what is described as a close relationship between General Senona and Matlala.
These allegations were raised by one of the Commission’s witnesses, known as Witness X, who testified remotely through an intermediary in October last year.
