Learner Arrested For Pouring Classmate With Boiling Water During School Camp

A 20-year-old female learner from a secondary school in Seleteng Village has been arrested after allegedly pouring boiling water on a fellow learner during a school camp.
The shocking incident occurred around 04:30 on Sunday, 26 October 2025, while learners were camping at the school to prepare for their final examinations.

According to preliminary investigations, the 19-year-old male learner was asleep in one of the classrooms when the suspect accused him of touching her private parts. The victim denied the allegation, and the suspect initially walked away — but later returned with a container of boiling water, which she poured over him.
The victim sustained severe burn injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he remains under medical care.

Police confirmed that after a thorough investigation, the suspect was arrested on Friday, 31 October 2025, and charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH).
She is expected to appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 03 November 2025.
Authorities say investigations are continuing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
