The media personality opened up about his struggles with depression— and how it led him to be committed to a mental institution. Celebrities are especially sensitive to mental health issues because they deal with difficult situations in their personal lives while being denied privacy.

Public figures such as Connie Ferguson, Masasa Mbangeni, and others have spoken out about their struggles with depression and anxiety, and Lasizwe is now encouraging his followers to do the same.

Taking to Instagram, the YouTuber discussed his battle with mental health and the importance of caring for one’s emotional well-being. Lasizwe did not specify which facility he was admitted to, but he posted a video from inside his room.

One thing about me, I am not shy to express how I feel. I have checked myself into a Mental Health Wellness Facility. I haven’t been okay for the past months. I have been so depressed. I have decided to fight this by taking a break and dealing with this 1 on 1,” the star wrote.
