Lamiez Holworthy Finally Speaks Out On ‘Lookalike’ Drama — “It’s Getting Creepy!”

South Africa, gather around — because this one is messy. Popular DJ and radio personality Lamiez Holworthy has finally weighed in on a viral situation that’s been brewing online for years. The star took to Facebook to address growing chatter about a TikTok stylist who many believe has been mirroring her entire aesthetic — from hairstyles to outfits and even body art.

And let’s just say… Lamiez didn’t hold back.

Lamiez Holworthy breaks silence on viral lookalike saga

For a while, social media users have been side-eyeing a content creator known as Rural Zulu Girl Stylist, claiming she bears an uncanny resemblance to Lamiez. Fans pointed out similar fashion choices, signature shaved hairstyles, and even tattoos that seem to match the DJ’s vibe.

But things escalated when the stylist allegedly clapped back hard at people making the comparison — reportedly using explicit language and dragging Lamiez into the responses.

That’s when Lamiez decided enough was enough.

In her now-viral post, she revealed she’s been aware of the situation since around 2020 but chose to stay quiet because she initially saw it as harmless — even flattering. However, the tone has clearly shifted.

She expressed concern about being dragged into negative exchanges and called out what she sees as blatant imitation being denied — something she described as “scary” rather than complimentary.

Timeline drama & receipts have Mzansi talking

Lamiez also urged fans to look closely at timelines, making it clear she had already established her signature style years before — including her bold haircut and tattoo sleeve, which she says were rare at the time.

She even referenced how the stylist previously rocked braids similar to those popularised by Moonchild Sanelly, with no tattoos in earlier posts — sparking more debate online.

Her message? Inspiration is fine. Denial + hostility? Not so much.

Lamiez made it clear she supports women expressing themselves boldly but believes it should come from a place of authenticity — not competition or conflict.

Social media reacts: “This is getting scary!”

As expected, Mzansi didn’t stay quiet.

The comments section quickly turned into a full-blown debate, with some users suggesting the situation feels unsettling rather than flattering. Others even compared it to thriller movies, saying the resemblance and behaviour are borderline obsessive.

Some fans went as far as suggesting legal action, while others defended the idea that imitation can sometimes go too far.

Selaelo Lela Maifala commented, “you might need to get a restraining order and whatever else you can against her, she’s mental and a danger. I went to her channel and saw that she enjoys walking around with people staring at her thinking she’s you, she’s not okay.”

Another user, Lebogang Gert, also weighed in. “Tjo as I go through Lamiez Holworthy comments I start realising how scary this is, reminds me of a movie called obsessed. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but this… Yoooooh sick.”
