Lady Du Apologises For Comments On Tyla’s Met Gala Debut

In a twist of events, Lady Du has taken to her official X account to apologise for the comments she made about fellow South African artist, Tyla, on her Met Gala debut.

If you missed it, Lady Du had some not-so-nice things to say about the dress worn by the talented “Water” hitmaker. However, it seems she’s had a change of heart.

Lady Du admitted her ignorance of the theme of the occasion and acknowledged that she doesn’t do red carpets, therefore lacking the necessary knowledge in that department. It was only after she had already posted her comments that she realised her mistake. Oops!

Of course, Tyla’s fans didn’t take Lady Du’s comments lightly. Some even went as far as accusing her of being jealous of the young singer’s success. But hey, we all make mistakes, right?

It’s refreshing to see Lady Du taking responsibility for her words and making amends. After all, we’re all human and prone to the occasional foot-in-mouth moment. It takes a big person to admit when they’re wrong, and Lady Du has certainly shown her maturity by doing so.

As for Tyla, she hasn’t reacted to Lady Du’s criticisms, and it’s unlikely she will now. She’s focused on her music and continuing to achieve great things in the industry. Let’s all take a leaf out of Lady Du’s book and remember to think before we speak (or tweet).

In the meantime, let’s keep supporting our talented South African artists and celebrating their achievements. After all, we’re all part of this vibrant and diverse music scene.
