LaConco Shines As The Voice Of Chilli In isiZulu-Dubbed Bluey

Nonkanyiso Conco, better known as LaConco, is entering an exciting new chapter in her career. The former Real Housewives of Durban star, TV presenter, and podcaster has officially joined the world of animation as the voice of Chilli, the mom, in the isiZulu-dubbed episodes of the award-winning children’s series Bluey.

The show, a global favorite produced by BBC Studios and airing on CBeebies, has captivated audiences worldwide with its heartwarming tales of family life through the eyes of Bluey, a playful pup.

Bluey Expands Into African Languages

BBC Studios confirmed that Bluey is now available in four major African languages: isiZulu, Afrikaans, Swahili, and Nigerian Pidgin. The move makes the Emmy- and BAFTA-winning series more accessible to millions of children across the continent.

Barbara Jerzyk Alvarez, Head of CEEMA Content Sales at BBC Studios, highlighted the milestone, stating that “Bluey has always celebrated the magic of everyday family life and now, more children can experience that magic in the language they speak at home.”

LaConco on Bringing Chilli to Life

Sharing her excitement, LaConco wrote, “Voicing Chilli has been a deeply personal and joyful experience. Bluey’s stories are universal but hearing them in our own languages makes them feel even more special. It’s a gift to our children.”
